  • You’re welcome to film your child’s routine, but please avoid flash photography and tripods as they can distract performers and obstruct other audience members.

  • Designated drop-off and pick-up locations will be clearly marked at the venue to help keep traffic flowing smoothly and ensure dancer safety throughout the event. Please follow all posted recital signage and staff directions upon arrival.

    Company Dancers:
Arrive at 10:00 AM, fully ready with hair/makeup completed and wearing company jackets.

    Open Dance Program Dancers (Recreational):
Drop off at 10:45 AM, dressed in costume with recital hair and light stage makeup completed according to the attached costume chart. Final recital lineup/order will be sent closer to the event date, but dancers performing in multiple routines should arrive in attire for their first number.

Please have your dancer (age 10 & under) arrive in easily removable shoes (such as sneakers, slip-ons, or sandals with a back strap), and bring their performance shoes in a labeled clear baggie with the dancer’s first and last name and class day/time (example: Emma Johnson – Tuesday 4:45 PM Creative Movement). This helps our team stay organized and ensures a smooth backstage process.

A TDC staff member will escort dancers to secured dressing rooms. For safety and security, parents are not permitted backstage during the performance. Dancers will remain backstage for the duration of the show under staff supervision.

While recital day can feel a little overwhelming for newer families, our staff will guide you through every step of the process to help make the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone.

  • We strive to create a calm, fun, and comfortable environment for all dancers backstage, especially our youngest performers.

To help keep dancers relaxed and entertained, we’ll have a movie, coloring books, and quiet toys/activities available.

Water stations will be provided. Please send a labeled water bottle with your dancer.

To protect those with allergies, we kindly ask that no outside snacks be brought backstage.

We recommend that dancers eat a full breakfast before arriving, as there will be no food backstage due to allergy concerns. The show is expected to run from approximately 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

We know the backstage process can sound a little intimidating at first, especially for newer families, but this system has worked very smoothly for our recitals over the past 8 years and helps create the best overall experience for both dancers and audience members.

Our staff will have your contact information on file and will reach out during the show if your dancer needs anything.

Thank you for helping us make this event safe, smooth, and unforgettable for our dancers and families. We can’t wait to see you there!
