Michelle SmithFounder/Artistic DirectorMichelle Smith is a choreographer from Severn, Md with 20 years of instructing experience. In 2005, she was a Radio City Rockette in New York City. She has won numerous regional and national awards through competitions, as well as the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award for the Arts. Mrs. Smith was hired by Debbie Allen to perform at The Kennedy Center in the productions of “Dreams” and “Pearl”.
In the summer of 2004, Mrs. Smith assisted Joe Lanteri at the World Jazz Congress held in Costa Rica. She also traveled across the country with New York City Dance Alliance assisting such choreographers as Andy Blankenbuehler and Mia Michaels. Mrs. Smith was selected to compete in the choreographer’s competition at the prestigious Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago in the summer of 2009 in which her choreography won the Silver Leos Award. In 2010 she was a finalist for the Capezio ACE Awards in New York City. |
